The Nanjing University-Wiley International Joint Conference: Microstructured Materials and Applications, co-sponsored by Nanjing University and Wiley Publishing, was held at the International Conference Center of Nanjing University from November 29 to December 1, 2019. The conference was hosted by CEAS as one of the activities to celebrate the 10th anniversary of our college, and was jointly supported by the college's Internationalization Demonstration College Promotion Program, the Double First Class Discipline Special Project and the Jiangsu Provincial Key Laboratory of Functional Materials Design Principles and Application Technology.
The opening ceremony of the conference was presided over by Prof. Di Wu, the Executive Dean of CEAS. First of all, on behalf of the organizing committee, the conference chairman, Professor Zhu Shining, an academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences and Nanjing University, extended a warm welcome to all the guests and thanked Wiley Press for co-organizing the conference with our university. Professor Lu Yanqing, Vice President of Nanjing University, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech. Afterwards, Dr. Xu Guangchen, on behalf of Wiley Publishing, expressed his welcome to the guests and congratulated the achievements of NTU, especially in materials science, and looked forward to more in-depth cooperation between Wiley Publishing and NTU.

The conference was attended by more than 160 participants, including authoritative scholars from universities and research institutions in many countries, including Australia, Korea, France and Japan. The conference focused on various topics such as artificial functional materials and engineering, optical superconfigurable materials and their applications, medical science and engineering, energy conversion and storage, etc. In-depth discussions were held. There are 6 conference presentations, 44 invited presentations and more than 40 posters. The conference is open to all students and faculty members for free, providing an opportunity for students and faculty members of NTU to communicate and learn from senior experts in the field of microstructured materials in the world.
