Nanjing Distinguished Lecture Series in Transformative Science and Engineering (TSE Lectures) was conceived by a visionary group of faculty and staff at the College of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Nanjing University. The main goal is to invite world-class scholars to visit Nanjing University and to speak on emerging and cross-cutting topics such as new materials, bioengineering, wearable devices, big data, optoelectronics, nanotechnology, and energy.
我们有幸邀请到多伦多大学 Prof. Edward Sargent,作为TSE Lectures系列讲座的第四讲嘉宾。报告信息见下,欢迎各位老师和同学参加!

题目:Next-generation perovskite and quantum dot solar cells and light emission devices
摘要:
Perovskites have catalysed a revolutionary acceleration in innovative solar materials and devices; quantum dots complement perovskites and can be combined with them to add infrared spectral dimensions to these platform technologies. I will review advances in each, and will discuss key challenges – such as pathways to ever-improving performance and stability – and recent progress in addressing these important opportunities.
个人简介:
Ted Sargent holds the rank of University Professor in the Edward S. Rogers Sr. Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Toronto. He holds the Canada Research Chair in Nanotechnology and also serves as Vice President - International for the University of Toronto. He was founder and CTO of InVisage Technologies Inc. of Menlo Park. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada; a Fellow of the AAAS ...for distinguished contributions to the development of solar cells and light sensors based on solution-processed semiconductors; and a Fellow of the IEEE ... for contributions to colloidal quantum dot optoelectronic devices. He is Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Engineering for “...ground-breaking research in nanotechnology, applying novel quantum-tuned materials to the realization of full-spectrum solar cells and ultra-sensitive light detectors. The impact of his work has been felt in industry through his formation of two start-up companies. He has published more than 300 journal papers on nanomaterials for energy conversion, including 14 in Science and Nature and 50+ in Nature family journals. He received the B.Sc.Eng. (Engineering Physics) from Queen's University in 1995 and the Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering (Photonics) from the University of Toronto in 1998.
