Nanjing Distinguished Lecture Series in Transformative Science and Engineering (TSE Lectures) was conceived by a visionary group of faculty and staff at the College of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Nanjing University. The main goal is to invite world-class scholars to visit Nanjing University and to speak on emerging and cross-cutting topics such as new materials, bioengineering, wearable devices, big data, optoelectronics, nanotechnology, and energy.
我们有幸邀请到美国工程院院士、斯坦福大学鲍哲南教授,作为TSE Lectures系列讲座的开讲嘉宾。鲍哲楠教授学术报告信息见下,欢迎各位老师和同学参加!

题目:Skin-Inspired Organic Electronic Materials and Devices
摘要:Skin is the body's largest organ, and is responsible for the transduction of a vast amount of information. This conformable, stretchable and biodegradable material simultaneously collects signals from external stimuli that translate into information such as pressure, pain, and temperature. The development of electronic materials, inspired by the complexity of this organ is a tremendous, unrealized materials challenge. However, the advent of organic-based electronic materials may offer a potential solution to this longstanding problem. In this talk, I will describe the design of organic electronic materials to mimic skin functions. These new materials enabled unprecedented performance or functions in medical devices, energy storage and environmental applications.
